Clean Water
Many Carolinians do not realize it, but the Catawba-Wateree River Basin has been listed as one of the Most Endangered Rivers in America several times in the past 10 years. The reason is both simple and complex. It is a simple in that the central portion of the Carolinas are one of the fastest growing areas for new development and water use in the Eastern United States. The complexity stems from the sources of impact and whether the water resources in the Carolinas can be effectively managed are items that are sources of debate and differences in scientific opinion. Rivendell Farms of the Carolinas (RFC) works closely with several small farm support organizations and the Catawba-Wateree Water Management Group (CWWMG) to support on-going collection of data and common sense approach to managing the Catawba Wateree River Basin.
