We were over the moon with our second annual fundraiser this year! With nearly 80 friends, colleagues, partners and community members we celebrated one of Rivendell Farms of the Carolinas’ main projects, the Charlotte Regional Food System Map. The map was made “live” during the event and attendees were invited to explore the Charlotte area’s food system.
The big announcement for the evening was that the Map will LAUNCH in Spring 2020. With lots of pistons needing to fire to make this a reality, the RFC Team is passionately dedicated to arm for the charge and create this resource for the Charlotte community.
RFC had support from Blue Cross Blue Shield NC, Novant Health and UNC Charlotte for the Harvest Moon Mingle. We are very thankful for these community partners.
As the event was hosted on campus at UNC Charlotte, RFC partnered with Chartwells (a division of Compass Group) for the food and beverage service. We cannot say enough about this AMAZING partnership. Chef Chandra, Lindsay, Jamie and Sarah pulled out all the stops and were able to source almost every ingredient from local farms, this event truly celebrated our growers.
Okra hushpuppies, grass-fed roast beef, tomato jam, muscadine dressed chicken salad, fresh greens, squash bread pudding, non-traditional deviled eggs, were just a few of the bites enjoyed and praised by attendees. We’re looking forward to future partnerships with Chartwells and Compass Group!
